Michael Harrington

As a PCB Designer, Michael’s primary roles include; PCB layout, schematic capture, component engineering, BOM creation and design for DFM/DFT. He has over 30 years working with electronics and has worked in many different industries. Prior to his career in electronics, Michael was an accomplished CNC Machinist and tool and die maker.

Michael has developed products for Fujitsu, Colorado MicroDisplay, Aircell (Gogo), Sierra Nevada Corp, Starsys Research, Ball Aerospace, JPL, and Northrop Grumman.

Michael’s passion to design quality printed circuit assemblies and mastering of the Altium Designer tool, which makes him an excellent Altium Coach. He loves to share tips and tricks of the Altium Designer tool, as well as his vast PCB knowledge. He also strives to keep current with the latest PCB fabrication and PCA assemblies’ processes.

Michael is an Advanced IPC Certified Interface Designer (CID+), which the certification specializes in high speed PCB design, PCB properties, HDI and design for fabrication.

The proudest moment in his career was watching live NASA’s Curiosity Rover safely land on Mars, since he designed the circuit boards for the Sky Crane’s decent brake. Also, knowing that those circuit board assemblies are still laying on the surface of Mars.
